About
Welcome to Ngepi Camp
Ngepi Camp, your Okavango Swamp destination, built on an island in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta panhandle in the Caprivi strip, Namibia, offers private and overland campsites with all facilities & stunning en-suite tree houses where your feet are ‘in’ nature—on the river.
Unique ‘floating swimming’ pool in the river, Mokoro safaris, boat cruises, fishing, bird/village walks, game drives, bushman art trip, visits to Popa falls, lawn & shade. The camp was started 20 years ago to entice the guests to enjoy the nature enough to leave converted, and thereafter, to constructively fight for the environment elsewhere.

Camp Sites
Most of our campsites are along the river’s edge, with a grassed camping area and an adjacent parking space for vehicles, trailers and caravans.
Each site has its own 220v AC solar powered electricity point, river water tap and fireplace/braai area. Our Bush campsites are a bit more secluded, with lovely big trees for shade, but they have no river view.

Tree Houses
Every one of our Tree Houses at Ngepi fits its tree’s structure naturally, not harming the tree during or after construction.
The tree defined how the tree house was to be built, and with the house placed on the eastern side of the tree, the Tree house will receive the blessing of the afternoon shade.

The Swirl
The Swirl is our luxury Tree House. As with all our other Tree Houses, The Swirl fits its tree structure naturally, not harming the tree during or after construction, and also designed to see the sun rise between your toes when lying in bed.
The Swirl has an amazing river view, King Size Bed and a sky-light shower like no other. It also has a small kitchenette with basic self-catering equipment for 2 guests.

Bush Huts
Although none of our Bush Huts have a river view, they are exactly what their name says – a Hut in the Bush. A rustic thatched hut, perfect for families. Each bush hut has 2 half-walled rooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds, and its own open-air bathroom. In the private garden guests can truly be one with nature.
Braai areas allow you to make your own fire, but our bush huts are not equipped for self-catering at all.

What our guests are saying
Ngepi is a fantastic camp in a forest overlooking the Okavango River. Great camping facilities with clean ablutions and hot showers. We also had a look at some of their rooms that looked amazing. The restaurant and bar serve great meals and drinks with local beer on tap. The balconies on the river’s edge provide great viewing possibilities of the endless animals visiting the other side of the river in the National Park. We just sat on the rivers edge and let the animals come to visit us. The noises of the animals at night were fabulous and conjured up all sorts in our imagination. I’d highly recommend this camp. The staff and the owners were really friendly and always had time for a chat or answering questions regarding our stay and things to do in the local area. Will DEFINITELY be back if I visit this area again.D Turner, July 2023
Silke H, May 2022We loved the quirky funny sayings on boards, the decor in the toilets and all the mischief.
Dinner was one of our best on our trip. Hearty, homecooked, freshly baked bread, fresh salad, great veg and the meat was exquisite. Breakfast was also fantastic. Staff is friendly and lovely.
Here you come to experience a once in a liftime stay
Everytime we are on a trip, the welcoming Ngepi Camp on the Okavango River is our home away from home. Next door is a small but exceptional national park we visited for the first time, and it did not disappoint!Afari Adventures, 31/07/2022
