A Fresh Chapter at Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten

Kindergarten5

We are incredibly proud to share the latest milestone in the journey of Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten—a heartwarming story of transformation, made possible through the kindness and support of remarkable people who believed in our vision.

What began as a humble kindergarten rooted in environmental education has now been revitalized, thanks to two key contributors: Shannon Albasini and Camino En Kayak Africa from Spain.

A Spark from Afar

This journey began unexpectedly through our dedicated booking agent, Jana Weyers. It was through her efforts that Camino En Kayak Africa from Spain discovered our community initiative. Moved by what they learned, they reached out to offer their support—donating brand-new soccer nets for the children and even traveling all the way from Spain to join us for our reopening celebration. Their thoughtful contribution added not just equipment, but joy. The soccer nets have brought a new energy to the school grounds, encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and pure fun. Seeing the children playing with pride and excitement has been a true highlight of this upgrade. We encourage you to learn more about their incredible expeditions and community work by visiting their website: https://www.caminodesantiagoenkayak.com/expediciones-africa

The Heart Behind the Transformation

Following Camino En Kayak Africa’s initial contact, Shannon Albasini, quickly became the driving force behind the kindergarten’s renewal. Shannon took it upon herself to source and supply brand-new school desks, stationery, and essential learning materials—resources that our young learners desperately needed.

But she didn’t stop there. With deep commitment and a hands-on approach, Shannon also led the renovation of the school building—refreshing the classrooms, restoring learning spaces, and ensuring the entire environment was clean, welcoming, and ready for the next generation of learners.

Thanks to Shannon’s vision and dedication, Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten is now not only functional—it’s flourishing.

A Celebration to Remember

The reopening day brought the entire Divayi village together in celebration. Children explored their brightened classrooms, tested out their new desks, and kicked the first goals into the new soccer nets. Community members, supporters, and our guests from Camino En Kayak Africa joined us to mark the occasion, filling the space with laughter, gratitude, and shared hope for the future

Moving Forward, Together

Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten continues to be a space where education, environmental stewardship, and community come together. And now, with these incredible upgrades, we are more inspired than ever to keep growing.

To Shannon Albasini, thank you for your boundless generosity and your belief in what we’re building here. And to Camino En Kayak Africa, thank you for seeing the potential in our project and taking the first step to support it. Your presence on reopening day meant the world to us.

This chapter reminds us that real change is possible—when hearts are open, and hands are willing
