Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten

At the heart of our community efforts lies the Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten, a beacon of learning and environmental stewardship nestled in the Divayi village, just a stone’s throw from Ngepi Camp’s gates. Our kindergarten is more than an educational institution; it’s a testament to our commitment to integrating environmental consciousness with early childhood education.
Unlike traditional Western education models, Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten places a significant emphasis on environmental lessons. We believe in nurturing a deep respect and understanding for nature among the youngest members of our community. This approach not only educates but also instills a sense of responsibility towards the environment from an early age.
The kindergarten is supported by three remarkable teaching assistants from the local village. Their dedication and knowledge are pivotal in bringing our vision to life. They engage the children with innovative teaching methods, making learning about the environment both fun and impactful.
In addition to our curriculum, we provide a television that primarily airs environmental programs. This serves a dual purpose – it’s an educational tool for our students and a source of entertainment for the community. On special occasions, we also broadcast major soccer games, transforming the kindergarten into a lively community center where everyone can gather and enjoy.
The Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten has become a hub of community activity, going beyond education to serve as a place where villagers can come together. It’s a space that celebrates learning, encourages environmental awareness, and fosters a strong sense of community among the residents of Divayi village.
Through the kindergarten, we aim to empower the next generation with the knowledge and values they need to protect and cherish their natural surroundings. The Ngepi Poftjie Kindergarten stands as a symbol of our dedication to both education and the environment, playing a vital role in shaping a sustainable future for our community.
