`If you have come to help me you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us walk together.
Lila Watson – Australian Aboriginal Leader
“The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.”
Life is what’s coming, not what was.
In the New Year ahead –TAKE TIME – it is all we are given:
Take time to laugh. It is music of the soul.
Take time to think. It is the source of power.
Take time to play. It is the source of perpetual youth.
Take time to read. It is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray. It is the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love and be loved. It is a God given privilege.
Take time to be friendly. It is the road to happiness.
Take time to give. It is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work. It is the price of success.
No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.
– Helen Keller –
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
“Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
